LEAD PASTOR

Pastor Dan & Marcy McAnney

Dan McAnney is married to Marcy (Dodd) McAnney.  They have four children, Danielle, Cassidy, Erin and Shannon.  As Lead Pastor of Hammonton Assembly of God Dan endeavors to do the work that God has planned for him to do.  Dan is also the Vice President of South Jersey Youth Alliance; an organization formed in 1999 with Rev. Preston Centuolo focused on uniting communities for the benefit of teenagers.

Dan was born in Santa Cruz, California to Howard and Joann McAnney.  He has an older sister Becki and an older brother Jim.  When he was two years old his family moved to Woodstown, New Jersey where his father pioneered an Assembly of God Church.  The McAnney family remained in South Jersey ministering together at various churches until divorce separated the family and he moved to Oklahoma.  Dan continued his education in Oklahoma attending the University of Oklahoma and earning a Bachelor of Interior Design. After college he continued work in Oklahoma for a few years before moving back home to New Jersey.

Upon returning home in 1992 Dan began working in youth ministry at Hammonton Assembly of God under Rev. Carl Colletti. Feeling the call of God to full-time ministry Dan completed the required ministerial courses offered by Berean School of the Bible and is now an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God.  Dan's life goal is to serve God in such a way that He will say, "Well done, good and faithful servant. "

Articles & Resources for Church Workers

  • Starting a Greeter Program
Four years ago I accepted the challenge of evangelism chairperson for our church. One of the first programs the pastor and I developed was the Sunday morning greeter program.
  • Motivating the Right Person into the Right Ministry
One of the greatest challenges for most leaders is selecting and motivating the right people into the right ministry positions in hopes of minimizing turnover and frustration. Even in the smaller church with limited personnel, it is important to coordinate people and ministry as much as possible.
  • “I TRIED, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME”
“I tried, but no one ever called me” are painful words for a leader who has much work to do and not enough people willing to do it. These words are painful for the person who wanted to contribute, but was never called. These are also painful words for a person who is committed to helping people connect and contribute in meaningful ways within the church.
